In the finale of the 50th Anniversary Translation Lecture Series 2021-22, Dr. Cheung Yu Kit highlighted the importance of language teaching in translation training. With rich teaching experience of translation in Hong Kong and Manchester, Dr. Cheung summarized characteristics of the Chinese language with abundant examples.  He believed that the inclusion of those characteristics in an English-Chinese translation textbook or course syllabus would enhance teaching effectiveness.
